Boarding

Veterinary Medicine and Surgery offers a full-service climate-controlled boarding facility for companion animals.  Our kennel staff goes above and beyond for each pet that is in their care.  If for some reason your pet becomes ill or needs medical attention, a veterinarian is available at a moment's notice.  We take pride in our boarding facility and encourage everyone to take a tour of the facilities before boarding their pet(s).

Canine Boarding

For our canine friends, we have 5 extra large kennels, 9 large kennels, 9 medium kennels, 13 enclosed kennels and 5 outside runs. These outdoor runs are to provide your pets with some sunshine and fresh air. While your pets are enjoying the outdoors the inside kennels will be cleaned and sterilized. All dogs are hand walked at least twice daily.  The dimension of the kennels are as follows:

Plastic-coated metal grates are used on the bottom of all kennels. These grates are scrubbed and sanitized daily. You are welcome to bring any kind of bedding along with your pet that we will place on the grate to make them more comfortable.

Outdoor runs are used to give dogs fresh air and sunshine as well as the opportunity for exercise.

Our Kennel Manager, Lloyd, will give your pet care and attention during his or her stay at Veterinary Medicine and Surgery!

Feline Boarding

For our feline friends, we have 8 kennels and a playroom that are located upstairs in a very quiet, peaceful area called the Cat Nap Inn.  This has a tropical theme with St. Kitts Island mural on the wall with a large window from which to gaze.

What to Expect

When you drop off your pet, a team member will ask questions regarding an emergency contact number, food, feeding schedule, medication, bathing, special commands, and any problems that need to be addressed by a doctor during their stay.

You are encouraged to bring your pet's normal food while boarding.  A sudden change in your pet's food could result in diarrhea or constipation.  We do carry Science Diet Growth and Maintenance dry dog and cat food in case a pet runs out or you forget to bring food. This food is available at no extra charge.  You can bring 1 item of bedding, 1 toy, and treats for your pet.  It is very helpful to have all items labeled with the pet's first and last name.

You can visit our Online Forms page to print out our boarding consent form to bring with you on the day of boarding, or you can fill out the boarding consent form to be sent to us directly from the website.
